Pithoragah City
Pithoragarh, a beautiful district of Uttarakhand having population of around 41,157, is just like a gateway of the Himalaya.  The city is an emerald carpet for the pilgrims who adore the Om Parvat or participate in the holy Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to visit sacred mountain Kailash and divine lake Mansarovar.  Pithoragarh is an eastern most district of Uttarakhand which rests in the sour vally and surrounded by four hills Chandak, Dhwaj, Kumdar and Thal Kedar.  If we have a look on Jhulaghat, the river kali (named on Hindu’s goddess Kali) connect the border of Nepal and the Pithoragarh through an over bridge.    

The wide spoken language of Pithoragarh is “Kumaoni” as this city is the part of kumaon region; however, there are 20 dialects spoken in the kumaon region as per the different districts.
