The glaciers are locally known as Gal. Some important glaciers of the Pithoragarh districts are as follows:

Milam Glacier:  
Milam Glacier
Milan Glacier is located in the tehsil Munsiyari, a part of Pithoragarh.  The glacier’s ranges in elevation from about 5,500 metres (18,000 ft) to about 3,870 metres (12,700 ft) at its snout.  It covers around 37 km2 (14 sq mi) and is 16 km (10 mi) long.
 
Namik Glacier:
Namik Glacier
 This glacier is situated at an altitude of 3,600 m.  The Ramganga East River originates from this glacier.  This glacier is surrounded by peaks Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Trishuli.

 Ralam Glacier: 
Ralam Glacier
This glacier is situated at an altitude of 2,290 m.  It’s located near Ralam Dhura at Ralam Khal.

 Meola Glacier:  
Meola Glacier
This glacier is located at the base of Panchchuli Peak.  It is situated at an altitude of 3,600 m.  It’s divided in to two parts, upper and lower.

 Sona Glacier:
Sona Glacier
 It’s situated just below the Ngalaphu peak and Panchchuli peak.  The direction of Sona Glacier is south west to north east.

 Panchchuli Glacier:
Panchchuli Glacier
 This glacier is situated in Pithoragarh district and placed in the west and east of five peaks of Panchchuli.

Kalabaland Glacier: 
Kalabaland Glacier
This 15th km long glacier is located to the north of the Milam Valley and to the west of the Darma valley.
